Hera, the Greek sky goddess who is the heavenly Queen of the Gods. As the wife of Zeus, the long-suffering Hera is the patron goddess of all women, particularly those who are married. Regal and proud, she does not let insults go lightly, and her wrath has been a driving force in numerous myths. her symbols include the diadem crown, the cuckoo (cuckoos are engraved into the pillars of the gazebo in which she sits), the throne, and the peacock.

Beautiful colours and details! You've evidently put in a lot of hard work :)

I like the peacocks so much! I grew up with peacocks visiting my house for handouts and its always a pleasure to see them rendered with such loving detail.

I think you should check out the Mughal miniatures of India. Your style isn't like that at all, since you use brighter colours and your work isn't so highly stylized. But the attitude that your subjects reflect is very similar to the attitude of the subjects in the mughal miniatures. I don't think you'll get what I'm trying to say until you check them out :)

Thank you! The dress was based on one that was used by lesajen-stock, but I added a train and changed the color.

Thank you so much, I have a fondness for peacocks too. My father used to work at a petting zoo that had them, and I thought they were so pretty. I definitely will check out those miniatures, they sound really interesting!

It's so beautiful! Hera has one heck of a bad temper! I love the colors and how detailed this is!

If you take a horses head & you gaze into their eyes, what do you see? You see a whole new person who doesn't judge you by your looks or how you dress. They see a friend who they can trust and love with their whole hearts.

Thanks, I thought Hera deserved to be painted in a more favorable light. She's had some bad press! :giggle:
