Zeus by redheaded-step-child Zeus by redheaded-step-child
Zeus, the Thunderer, was the absolute King who ruled the Gods of the Greek World from atop Mount Olympus. He was considered the most powerful of the gods, as the wielder of thunderbolts, dispenser of judgement, and protector of travellers, guests and supplicants. His attributes include the mighty oak tree, the eagle, and thunder.

Aside from his Queen, the powerful goddess Hera, Zeus had many love affairs, by which he fathered a large number of the greatest gods and heroes of mythology. These included many of the Great Olympians, such as Hermes, Apollo and Artemis, as well as famed heroes and heroines, such as Hercules, Perseus and Helen of Troy.

This was done in watercolor, and the model for Zeus was the irreplacable *justmeina. :)

I love the misty effect you created in this piece. The subtle colors of the chair and the bold toga, very nice.

the way you incorporated the eagle is way cool. The composition is very asymmetrical and yet still balanced

Very nice! Your did a nice portrayal of Zeus... except of course for the fact that Zeus was screwing everything in sight. Man, woman, child, animal, inanimate object, etc... Zeus was a perv. BUT HE'S STILL COOL! :)

YAY! I missed your Greek gods and goddesses (not that I don't love your other work). Excellent portrayal of Zeus! His throne is fantastic, a well-balanced use of two of his symbols, an eagle and a throne. I want it in my house. I also love how you did the thunderbolts. They're not the stereotypical zigzag thing. They look like an orb of lightning, like Zeus is just getting warmed up for an attack. Well done!
