Oh my goodness, I am so thrilled! I sleepily stumbled to my laptop this morning to check my messages, and noticed I had a lot. When I investigated, I found out my watercolor painting, "Hera" has been given a DD!!!!! I can't believe it, I'm sailing too far past amazed, flattered, honored and more than a little stunned to even tell you!

PS- This week my fiance and I are moving yet again! Not across the country this time though, just across town, so it shouldn't take the bite out of my painting that the last move did. I can't wait to get to our new apartment and finally settle into life in BC!

Hi guys, it's me, back from the void! Oooooooooo! I've just gotten over the longest artistic dry spell of my life caused by the chaos of my cross-country move from Nova Scotia to British Columbia, and I'm finally painting (aka BREATHING) again. I hope everyone hasn't forgotten about me, I just didn't feel right coming back until I had a new painting. Now all I need is a new desk so I can stop painting with everything on the floor! I honestly can't tell you how good it feels to be painting again, it scares me that I could go for so long without it! I should be doing some new stuff really soon, I have sketches going for the Lady of the Lake, Ostara/Easter and the Goddess of Destruction, Kali (which is verrrry different for me! She's completely terrifying, I love her!) and I'm playing with some ideas for Odin and characters from Shakespeare. I just finished reading Neil Gaiman's "American Gods", one of the best books I've ever read, and was inspired to learn more about new Gods and pantheons and to broaden my horizons a bit. Now my head is absolutely spinning with the possibilities, Gods and spirits of Africa, India, Asia, the Norse and Native American Gods... Wow, I'm starting to think the things I don't know could fill a library.

Anyway, I just wanted to say "Hello again!" and that I've really missed this place! Also, I'm sorry I'll have to leave some of the comments that have been posted in my absence unanswered, but they are definitely not unappreciated! Thank you so much!

Maybe some of you have noticed I haven't been all over my DeviantArt account like I normally am lately. To tell the truth, I've been pretty preoccupied with the recent mountain of crazy change falling into my lap! In addition to the fairly standard and not-so-standard concerns that fill this time of the year: birthdays, a wedding (Congratulations Anne and Luker!!! ), Halloween (and my own birthday ), followed by the full-tilt madness of the Holidays, I find myself preparing with my fiance, Bruce, for a move clean across the country! He's been offered a fantastic work promotion, and shortly after Christmas, we'll be relocating from Nova Scotia all the way to British Columbia!

Wow, this leaves a lot of considerations! We're dealing with his back-and-forth trips between here and BC to iron out details and run his new department, staying in touch with friends and family (My brand-new Facebook account looks like it will be invaluable!!!), transporting and preparing our furry little kids, and figuring out what we own that is worth shlepping across the country! And that's just for starters! Needless to say, if we make it to our new home with our heads intact we'll be doing good!

I was tagged by the wonderful *PrismArtGurl, so here are 8 random facts about me :

1. My favorite topping for french fries is Parmesan cheese.

2. I have a crazy rapport with animals, and have had a German Shepherd escort me to my elementary school with my hand held in his mouth, and flocks of seagulls take food from my hand in mid-air. (Both of these things made the people around me very nervous for various reasons )

3. I adore all kinds of animals: cats, bats, frogs, crows, horses, dolphins, scorpions, bunnies, it's all the same to me! One of the main reasons I can't bring myself to get a snake is that I'd probably want to keep it's food as pets, too.

4. If I could act, I'd want to be the witch in MacBeth who gets to say "Something wicked this way comes". I think it's the coolest line ever.

5. I'm obsessed with the night sky! I think it's the most beautiful thing in existence, and my room is always decorated in a celestial theme.

6. I was born at 12:36 AM on Halloween night, so my birthday is November 1st. There's always extra celebration on Halloween in my family.

7. My middle name is "Eve", and I'd gladly switch my first name for it.

8. I actually started drawing when my Mom let me scrawl all over the unfinished bathroom walls with markers during toilet training to keep me still! She made sure to keep lots of art supplies in the house ever since.

Instead of actual tagging, I suggest everyone make a list of 8 random facts! It's fun, and I always like reading them!
